BEECHLAWN Organic Farm in Ballinasloe was among the winners announced at the 2022 Bord Bia National Organic Awards announced earlier this month.
Nationally, seven organic farmers, growers, producers and manufacturers, were honoured for their contribution to the organic sector. Beechlawn Organic Farm was awarded the e-Commerce Award for their ‘Grown in Ireland Veg Box’.
Other winners across the country included Slí Eile Support Services (Business in the Community category); Dunnes Stores (Special Recognition for commitment to Irish organics); organic dairy processor, Glenisk (Greek Style yogurt); Butler’s Organic Eggs (Marketing Campaign); and Supernature Ltd. for their hazel buttercups.
Pippa Hackett Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity in the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, said that the innovation, creativity, and determination of the prize-winners were a testament to the excellent standards in the Irish organic industry.
“The environmental and economic benefits of organic farming are needed now more than ever, and our winners for 2022, signal a bright future ahead for the Irish organic sector,” said Pippa Hackett.
