Eurospar in An Cheathrú Rua has struck gold again after selling a Euromillions ticket worth €625,000 – just eight months after a customer’s Quick Pick scooped a life-changing €7 million.
The player won the midweek windfall after matching five numbers and one Lucky Star in Tuesday night’s draw, securing €625,081.
Owner Jennifer Breathnach said everyone is delighted that Lady Luck has shone down twice on the Gaeltacht village.
“You know what, if it was me personally, I’d rather €600,000 than €7m, it’s a really nice amount, enough to make your life comfortable but it’s not going to completely change it. It’s created a huge buzz – everyone is excited. Please God it will do someone some good,” she remarked.
The previous €7m Lotto jackpot winner last November chose to remain anonymous, and Jennifer says that nobody locally has made any great changes to reveal themselves.
“Everybody wanted to know, there were all sorts of rumours, but nobody knows for sure. You won’t know with this either – you never find out officially unless somebody stands directly in front of you and says it was me.”
The winning numbers for the July 15 draw were: 24, 38, 41, 45, 49 and the Lucky Stars were 1 and 6.
