The second annual Coole Music Cello Picnic, taking place in Gort this Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, hosted by Coole Music and Arts, will have a feast of workshops and concerts.
These will be delivered by Susanne Paul from Berlin, whose ‘Groove It’ teacher workshop is open to all string teachers (not just cellists), and Dubliner Ailbhe McDonagh who is presenting her own compositions (It’s a Cello Thing, Vol 1 and 2) in a masterclass with students.
Both musicians will feature in a Cello Feast Concert for students and teachers on Saturday and the weekend will conclude with a cello picnic in Coole Park’s Walled Garden this Sunday, starting at 3pm. That will feature Susanne Paul, Tangerine Parking Lot and Coole Music cello orchestras. This event is free to the public and families are especially welcome. People are invited to bring a picnic and a rug or cushion and Coole Music will provide the entertainment.
For those interested in attending Masterclasses, these will take place in the Noone Building of Gort Community School.
