A two-bed terraced house close to Taylor’s Hill in Galway sold for €345,000 at auction last week.
It was among a catalogue of residential and commercial properties sold by O’Donnellan & Joyce Auctioneers.
The agents reported that it was “a day of frantic bidding across many lots and a number of strong sales, demonstrating that demand remains high for properties in the West”.
“Many properties performed exceptionally well at the auction, exceeding well over their reserve price and some of the remaining lots are now under offer,” auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan said.
In the city, 7 Taylor’s Hill Court on Rosary Lane – adjacent to Scoil Róis – saw bidding commence at €330,000 before quickly concluding at €345,000, which was short of its €350,000 Advised Minimum Value (AMV). This is a two-bed end-of-terrace property which offers spacious accommodation over three storeys.
57 Fr Burke Road, Claddagh, Galway. This three-bed mid-terrace house is close to Grattan Beach and South Park. Accommodation comprises three bedrooms, a living room and kitchen/dining area. The property boasts an east facing front lawn with a long rear garden facing west. This lot sold at its AMV of €400,000.
15 Oakwood, Athenry. This is a two-bed first floor apartment located within walking distance of the town, schools and close to the train station, making it in commuting distance to Galway city centre. Accommodation is comprised of living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms with master en suite. This is the perfect starter home or investment property. Bidding commenced at €125,000 and after a period of intense bidding from the floor and via telephone, the hammer dropped at €154,000, which was €12,000 over its AMV.
