Poetry Lobby returns to Menlo Park Hotel Poetry Lobby returns to Menlo Park Hotel

An afternoon filled with quality verse will take place in the city’s Menlo Park Hotel on Sunday week, October 19, from 3pm to 5pm, when the next Poetry Lobby, supported by Poetry Ireland, is held.

The featured readers are Aideen Henry, Colm Scully, D’or Seifer and Attracta Fahy for an event that will be hosted by local poet Anne Donnellan, followed by an open mic session.

Aideen Henry is a poet, short story writer and dramatist. She has an MA in Writing and has published three poetry books with Salmon; Hands Moving at the Speed of Falling Snow, Slow Bruise and her most recent, A Bloodless Field.

Cork poet and filmmaker Colm Scully won the Cúirt New Writing Prize in 2014. His poems have been published recently in Poetry Ireland Review, Southword, Cyphers and Crannóg. His second collection, Neanderthal Boy, is just out with Wordsonthestreet publications. His poetry films have been screened and won prizes internationally.

D’or Seifer’s poetry has been widely published in Ireland and abroad. She has read at the Cúirt International Literary Festival, the Limerick Writers’ Centre’s April Is Poetry Month, and more. She co-runs the Lime Square Poets (online) and First Wednesday (Limerick) series, and she co-edits Skylight 47. Her collection, On Being Un/Able to Walk Through Walls, was recently published by Revival Press.

Attracta Fahy, a psychotherapist and MA in Writing graduate of the University of Galway, won the Trócaire Poetry Ireland Competition and has been published in magazines including Poetry Ireland Review, Orbis, Stingingfly, Banshee, Crannóg and Cyphers.
