Local MEP urges Independent TDs to make Mercosur Trade Deal "red line" in Government formation talks

A local MEP is urging independent TD’s to make the Mercosur Trade Deal a “red line” issue in Government formation talks.

It’s as the Regional Independent Group – with includes Sean Canney and Noel Grealish – is set to enter talks this week.

Mercosur is a trade deal between the European Union and a number of countries in South America.

It’s sparked fierce controversy among farmers over the quantity of beef that will be imported into the EU every year.

And Independent Ireland MEP Ciaran Mullooly says Independent TD’s must back them.
