Dirty old town

The scandal of the dirty Galway streets on Sunday morning continues to cause constant complaint.

On Sunday morning, the streets of the city give the impression of a township in which all the services had been disorganised.

The disgusting sight of refuse being strewn about the streets in the vicinity of the churches is not uncommon. If the Urban Council and its officials are not deaf to all the protests, they will see that this matter is remedied.

Aran court returns

Mr. F. Carter, district registrar, Galway, visited the North Island, Aran, this week, and made arrangements for the holding of a district court there on the second Wednesday of each month. It is now nearly eight years since a court has been held in Aran, and this was under the old regime.
