Call for permanent traffic control to be installed in Rosscahill

A call has been made for Galway County Council to install permanent traffic control close to St.Annin’s National school and the adjoining creche in Rosscahill.

The issue’s been raised by Independent candidate for Connemara North LEA Councillor Thomas Welby following feedback from residents in recent weeks.

Rosscahill is designated a settlement in the current County Development Plan, but a national secondary road dissects the services and a majority of nearby houses.

Local residents are also encouraged to engage in submissions to Government under the Road Traffic Bill 2024.

Councillor Welby says the current setup with the speed limits is causing problems:
