TedFest is hitting Inis Mór in a few weeks’ time but people don’t have to leave the mainland for some of the events – which is just as well as tickets for events on the island are as scarce as hens’ teeth.
Massimo in the city’s William Street West is the venue for the annual TedFest Table Quiz, taking place next Wednesday March 1. It will start at 8pm, with registration from 7pm.
This long-running tradition has long been an annual staple for Ted fans and always a night of craic. The quiz has also been getting steadily more difficult over the years. However, the promise this year is that the “toughness will be turned down and the craic up, but it will still be heavenly fun” for Ted experts and casual fans alike.
All questions will be Father Ted-related and will include picture and audio rounds. There will also be interactive rounds, including a Lovely Girls Competition, and a TeaMaster Trial. Great prizes are promised for the three top-scoring teams, as well as spot prizes for Best Dressed and Best Team Name.
A table of four costs €50.
And the TedFest Toilet Duck Awards will take place on Thursday, March 2, in the Róisín Dubh.
This stand-up comedy competition will feature 16 of Ireland’s finest up-and-coming comedians in a war of wits, battling it out until there’s only one person left.
That person will receive the Toilet Duck Award trophy, as wel as €300 cash, €700 worth of paid comedy club and festival spots, plus bragging rights. These awards, hosted by Eddie Mullarkey will start at 8.30pm.
Tickets for both events from roisindubh.net.
