Artists from Limelight Creative Arts – a Brothers of Charity creative arts programme based in Oranmore – hosted the premier of their latest short film, You’ll Bee Fine, at the Pálás Cinema in Galway recently.
The artists enjoyed a fun filled night with friends and family, walking the red carpet and were interviewed by guest MC Ollie Turner.
Made in collaboration with artist Sorsha Galvin as part of the Arts Council’s Artist in the Community Scheme, You’ll Bee Fine is a heartwarming animation that is completely hand drawn and voiced by the artists that attend Limelight.
Sorsha has worked with the group of artists over the course of a year.
“The story includes audio from real life interviews with the participants and gives an honest and insightful glimpse into the lives of people with disabilities in Ireland today,” she explained.
“The film follows a bee that travels through a beautiful forest, encountering a variety of animals, each with their unique charm and perspective. Each animal the bee meets shares their story, providing advice on navigating the complexities of life.
“You’ll Bee Fine is a gentle reminder of the beauty of nature and the wisdom it holds. It encourages viewers to find comfort in the world around them, no matter how strange or overwhelming it might seem.
“Through the eyes of a little bee and the voices of the forest animals, Limelight Creative Arts have crafted an inspiring tale that reassures us all: no matter what, you’ll bee fine,” she added.
You’ll Bee Fine will be shown in the Nun’s Island Theatre on August 21 and 22. Free tickets are available on Eventbrite.
