The Mayor of Galway joined a host of Galway’s business leaders for a special event last week looking at ways to break down barriers and create a level playing field for job seekers from all walks of life.
The Inclusive Pathways to Employment project is a landmark initiative between Galway City Partnership and Galway Chamber, aimed at fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workforce. And this groundbreaking programme is set to redefine the future of employment by providing equitable opportunities for all, regardless of background or circumstance.
There was a full turn-out for their event in Galway’s Connacht Hotel, , which served as an educational platform for employers to hear about the project and to listen to some first-hand experiences from some of the clients involved.
Speakers included the Mayor of Galway City, Cllr Eddie Hoare; Galway City Partnership CEO Linda Sice Brogan; Galway Chamber CEO Kenny Deery; Project Co-Ordinator Maggie Woods; Project Employer Liaison Officer Sharon Doyle; Department of Social Protection Officer Yvonne Kenny and three clients who have gone through the process – Lisa Madden, Paul Cannon and Conall Lynch.
Attendees also heard from two representatives from employers who are members of the project, Geraldine Dowling HR in CityLink and Garry Kendellen representing Galway Aquarium.
They said that, in today’s rapidly evolving job market, it was more important than ever to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
Inclusive Pathways to Employment is designed to break down barriers and create a level playing field for job seekers from all walks of life.
“Whether you are a recent graduate, a career changer, a person with disabilities, a veteran, or anyone seeking meaningful employment, this program offers a comprehensive range of support and resources,” explained a spokesperson.
