A cat has been rescued from a shop in Athenry after living in the walls for six weeks.

Galway SPCA says it received reports from members of the public, who heard trapped cries in a Dealz store in the town.

Maintenance workers managed to rescue the animal after entering through the roof.

The cat is now named Dealz and has been taken to a cattery until a permanent home can be found.
