Seamount College and KAVA Courthouse Gallery will present their annual student art exhibition at the KAVA Courthouse Gallery, Kinvara, from Tuesday, February 24, to Sunday, March 1, daily from 10am to 4pm. This year’s exhibition, Essence, will officially open next Tuesday evening at 7pm, and all are invited to attend.
Essence showcases diverse and compelling work created by the talented students of Seamount. The exhibition includes paintings, photography, ceramics, drawings and stone-carved pieces, highlighting the creativity, technical skill and vision of these young artists.
The show’s title reflects on the connection between art and the individual, as students explore identity and experience, and offer an interpretation of the world around them.
This exhibition also offers them a valuable real-world learning experience. The group is taking full responsibility for curating the show, installing and presenting the work, and running the gallery throughout the week. They will welcome visitors, engage with primary and secondary school groups and gain first-hand experience in communication, organisation and arts management.
Seamount College’s annual exhibition continues to be a highlight of the local arts calendar, celebrating student achievement while strengthening links between the school and the community.
Members of the public, families, neighbouring schools, and art enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and support these young artists.
■ The exhibition opens next Tuesday, February 24, at 7pm. It then runs daily until March 1, from 10am-4pm daily and all are welcome.
