Opel are playing a shrewd game with their attractive Mokka range by offering it for sale in petrol, diesel, and a new electric version. Choice is the key word for buyers, and while Ireland is getting to grips with the push to buy electric vehicles, not everyone is ready or can afford them. It is a risk-free strategy and will pay dividends in the coming years.
The brand has been handicapped in the recent past by a lack of supply, and the company changing ownership. It has been a frustrating couple of years for the brand as the Mokka had lots of suitors who couldn’t get their hands on the car. Now that things are settling down, the sleeping giant has been reawakened, and here in Ireland we are beginning to see the results in the showrooms.
The 1.2-litre petrol range starts at €28,495 rising to €35,995 depending on the level of equipment. For the 1.5-litre diesel model you will pay between €30,495 and €33,495 for the Elite version. The new Mokka Electric which replaces the old Mokka-e has a retail price of €36,559 after incentives which compares well to the range and to the competition.
Mokka Electric is an award-winning design and is the best-selling battery-electric vehicle in the B-SUV segment in Germany towards the end of 2022. They have added more power, efficiency, and attractiveness compared to the original Opel Mokka-e that it replaces.
