Music, comedy, drama and more in Town Hall’s new season

Theatre, comedy, music, dance, musicals, film, and special events for all ages are included in the Town Hall Theatre’s Autumn-Winter season. The October-December brochure has just been published, with all information also available to download from the website.
Dylan Moran, Ruby Wax, Al Murray, James Vincent McMorrow, Lisa O’Neill, Mikel Murfi, Mary Coughlan, Bressie, John Creedon and Seán Keane are just some of the big names who will be at the venue this season.
Theatre highlights include productions by Brokentalkers, Fishamble, Christian O’Reilly, David Joyce, Seamus O’Rourke, Peter Gowen and Patrick Cullivan, with Studio performances by Ranch House Productions, Eoin Ryan, Eva’s Echo and Wren Theatre.
There will be dance from some of the best companies in the country – Junk Ensemble, CoisCeim, Ballet Ireland and Galway’s Youth Ballet West.
One of the highlights of this extended dance season will be Floating On A Dead Sea, inspired by Catherine Young’s experience visiting Palestine. The piece will feature Irish and Palestinian dancers.
The music programme includes G4, Ronan Collins, The Celtic Tenors, Lisa O’Neill, James Vincent McMorrow, Mary Coughlan (extra performance added), Robert Mizzel and two concerts from Claddagh Choral (each with a special guests). There’s a series of tribute acts, including The Greatest 80s Show, The Mersey Beatles, the Elton John Show, ELO Again, and tributes to Abba and Elvis.
In addition, 9 Arch Musical Society Claregalway return with a large-scale production of the classic musical comedy Rock of Ages.
On the funny front, there will be Galway Comedy Festival events as well as Sean Begley, Conal Gallen, Rory’s Stories, Al Murray, David O’Doherty, Jarlath Regan (extra performances added) and Emma Doran.
Spoken word events will include TedX Galway, Bressie, Dr David Colman and John Creedon in conversation with Billy Keane about John’s new book.
Other events include Bingo Loco at the Black Box, the amazing Keith Barry, Galway favourites, Dreamboys, and the annual Christmas Food and Craft Fair.
Family events include Baboró Festival, Branar, Whistleblast, Joe the Magician and the Renmore Pantomime.
There will also be school productions by Salerno, Coláiste na Coiribe, Bangers and Crash, the eagerly awaited return of the popular Bish Bash and the annual Gael Linn Scleip along with Performing Arts School, Galway, and Hession School of Dance, offering lots for teenagers and young people.
