DJ Annie Mac has joined the line-up for this year’s Galway International Arts Festival and will be at the Big Top on Sunday, July 21.
For 17 years, until she left in 2021, Annie Mac was a key music presenter on BBC Radio 1. She has played at international music festivals and served as DJ in some of the world’s leading clubs. More recently, she created her own popular club night series Before Midnight.
Her debut novel 2021’s Mother, Mother was a Sunday Times bestseller and was followed last year by the acclaimed The Mess We’re In.
These days, having moved away from radio, she hosts a podcast Changes with Annie Macmanus, chatting to people, including writers and artists, about how change punctuates their lives. And she co-presents Sidetracked with Annie and Nick (Grimshaw), in which she and her friend and fellow DJ analyse the weekly music news.
Tickets for Annie Mac at the Big Top are on sale from 10am this Thursday, February 1, from giaf.ie or roisindubh.net.
