A major music promoter is in negotiations to host concerts and a music festival at Galway Airport next summer.
Galway County Council, joint-owner of the Carnmore facility, confirmed to the Galway City Tribune it was in discussions with a promoter about holding concerts at the former airport in 2024.
It is understood that MCD is the promoter, but that company did not respond to queries. Galway County Council would not be drawn on the identity of the promoter.
Kieran Coyne of the Community and Rural Development section of the County Council confirmed concert talks were ongoing.
“I can confirm that we are in ongoing discussions with a promoter in relation to the potential for holding concerts at the former airport site in Carnmore in the Summer of 2024,” Mr Coyne said.
