Jimmy Buckley and special guest Sandy Kelly will be in concert at Galway City’s Town Hall Theatre on Thursday, September 29, starting at 8pm
One of Ireland’s best-loved and most respected performers, Jimmy has enjoyed many years at the top of his profession and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Entertainer of the Year in the RTÉ music awards. He has also been regularly lauded at the Sunday World Music Awards.
Not only is he a fine singer, he’s also known for his ability to mimic other Irish performers, including Daniel O Donnell, Brendan Shine and Phil Coulter .
Jimmy’s show contains a wide variety of material; country, big ballads and tribute medleys to the greats of country music such as Hank Williams and Charlie Pride. His big band will accompany him as he performs these at the Town Hall, when he looks forward to meeting friends, old and new.
Jimmy’s special guest for this show Sandy Kelly, an iconic figure in country music. In her lengthy career, which began when she was still in her teens, Sandy has recorded with Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and George Hamilton IV, and has performed on some of the world’s leading stages.
