So new year, new fashion trends – what exactly are the fashionistas predicting will be hot for 2024. Based on the Spring/Summer ‘24 collections, we will see Millennial Pink replacing ‘Hot Pink’ that became synonymous with the Barbie movie.
In fact, Millennial Pink, ballet flats and a strong side part in the hair are among the main trends picked up the Stylecaster magazine on the catwalks.
If pink is not for you, you can look forward to lilac as another trending colour of the year, as well as a multitude of greens, from the deeper forest green to fluorescent green.
An unusual feature that will grace many of the tops and dresses on the High Street will be bows.
“Expect to see even more ribbons and bows on dresses, pants, and tops this year. The dainty addition creates a romantic look that can be worn to weddings, special date nights, and cocktail parties,” predicts Stylecaster.
Glamour Magazine labels the proliferation of rosettes, ribbons and ruffles on the spring runways as ‘girlcore’.
Vogue predicts that halter-necks will replace corsets in dresses and tops, which will be a more comfortable option.
Drop waist dresses will replace the high-waisted silhouette of 2023, which will be typically paired with longer dresses.
