It’s moving week in the senior Gaelic football championship as some teams settle into knockout positions or prepare to embrace a relegation scrap.
Unbeaten Tuam Stars and Moycullen clash in Pearse Stadium, an attractive double header along with St James against Salthill/Knocknacarra. And there’s a lot of stake in Tuam Stadium on Saturday with Caherlistrane’s clash with St Michael’s, followed by Killannin against Claregalway.
Mountbellew/Moylough and Milltown are also without defeat; while it’s a very important weekend for Naomh Anna Leitir Móir, Annaghdown, St James’, and Killannin.
SATURDAY
GROUP 1
Corofin vs An Spidéal
(6.15pm Pearse Stadium)
Corofin have concerns over Matthew Cooley (shoulder) as they try to bounce back from a two-point defeat to Moycullen. Gary Sice, along with Dylan Canney, top scored with 0-3 but the former Galway star’s availability is uncertain due to a family bereavement.
An Spidéal manager Tomas Costello faces his home club as he tries overcome a crippling injury list that has ultimately resulted in three defeats and a relegation battle. The latest doubt is Cormac Lee due to a foot injury picked up in Round 3.
Verdict: Corofin
