The popular Laughter Loft at the city’s King’s Head Pub is celebrating 21 years of lunchtime comedy at next month’s Galway International Arts Festival, when some of the biggest names in Irish comedy will be playing in one of the smallest venues on the Irish circuit.
Among them are Ardal O’Hanlon, Neil Delamere, Emma Doran, Gearóid Farrelly, Shane Daniel Byrne and Killian Sundermann, Aoife Dunne and Al Porter. There will also be surprise guests and new talent performing at lunchtime in the Ruby Room at the top floor of the King’s Head.
The Laughter Loft will offer people a daily dose of humour throughout the two-week festival, with a different line-up each day, programmed by longtime host Gerry Mallon.
This is a rare opportunity for people to catch these big comedy names in one of the smallest venues they’ll be appearing in all year. And, for one special day, The Laughter Loft will present ‘The Early Edition’, an all-ages, accessible show, for which comedic talents John Colleary, Alex J Byrne and MC Gerry Mallon will team up.
The Laughter Loft at The Ruby Room in the The King’s Head runs from July 14 to July 27. Doors are at 12.30pm with shows starting at 1pm and it’s open seating. Tickets are €15 and are only available at the door.
