A new Galway MedTech company, which has grown its workforce from two people to 22 in less than three years, opened its expanded laboratories and offices at its facility in Parkmore Business Park just before Christmas.
Versono Medical, founded by CEO Finbar Dolan and CTO Hugh O’Donoghue in 2018, is a trailblazer in the area of treating vascular disease – and this expansion comes after it was awarded a €7m grant – the largest of the recently-announced Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund awards.
The official opening was conducted by Minister of State at the Department of Transport Hildegarde Naughton and attended by Tom Kelly, Divisional Manager, Cleantech, Electronics and Life Sciences.
The funding was for the Vascusense programme, led by Versono, which builds on the company’s platform technology through a programme of strategic research with consortium partners – Interger Holdings, the Technological University of Dublin and the University of Galway.
