Health, Beauty and Lifestyle with Denise McNamara
If you are being asked what you’d like for Christmas, here is my list of beauty products that really punch above their weight in terms of effectiveness and value for money. Most are available in local pharmacies or beauty salons, so you are doing your bit for local businesses.
Image Skincare Christmas Collection this year come in beautiful bright boxes with full-size products that will last half the year.
My favourite is the Brighten Collection (€111 saving €40) which has the Ormedic cleanser with an Iluma Serum and the best SPF on the market – the Prevention Matte Moisturiser.
With the weather so unbelievably cold, the Hydrate Collection (€134 saving €42) is also a winner – the Vital C cleanser, Vital C serum and the Prevention Ultimate Hydrating Moisturiser.
The Nuxe gift sets look as delectable as they smell. Choose from the organic, honey, green tea and rose collections. The ‘Iconics’ features the three products which earned Nuxe so many skincare fans globally – the Huile Prodigieuse, Creme Fraiche plumping cream and the honey lip balm. Sets start at €28.
This week Kinvara Skincare is having a 20 per cent flash sale so a great time to pick up one of their excellent gift sets, which offer at least one item for free. A wonderful stocking filler is the Gua Sha Stone, which will improve circulation and helps drain any puffiness from the face. It allows better absorption of facial oils and serums. On its own it costs €12 or pair with the beautiful Precious Facial Oil and a satin eye mask which costs €36.
If you have young fans of dolling up to the nines, these Kiss sets have proved a major hit among my tribe. The Falscara gift set (€39.95) includes a starter kit, an overnighter and remover – in fact one teen who happily trialled this for me had the lashes on for five days. The sets come with a dual ended bond and seal which primes and preps lashes while the seal locks in wisps for all-day wear. The overnighter holds them for up to ten days.
