The South Galway Bay Music Festival which is returning for its third year, is promising three nights of music and dance from this Friday to Sunday, July 26-28. Hosted by the Ballinderreen GAA Club, the 2024 festival has a fantastic line-up, suitable for all ages.
The Whistlin’ Donkeys, Johnny Brady, Derek Ryan, Olivia Douglas, Clodagh Lawlor, Gavin Gribben, and Jack Keogh are the headline acts this year.
“The South Galway Bay Music Festival is fast becoming one of the highlights of the summer calendar in Galway,” says organiser Mattie Larkin. “The 2023 festival was a testament to the resilience and enthusiasm of our attendees and performers, and 2024 promises to be even bigger and better.”
There will be outdoor and indoor bars and wooden dancefloors, ensuring people can enjoy themselves whatever the weather. There will also be a fully licensed bar and a selection of food trucks.
A Festival Bus will run on all three nights, covering Oranmore, Gort and Kinvara. Seats for this must be booked in advance.
The event is organised by energetic volunteers from Ballinderreen GAA, with proceeds supporting the development of a new multipurpose gym facility.
Adult tickets (18+) range from €25-€30, while a two-night Country Music ticket for Saturday and Sunday are €50. Youth tickets for those aged from 13-17 are €30 on Friday night and €15 Saturday/Sunday night.
Children 12 and under go free, with a supervising adult (a maximum of four children per adult).
And Sunday’s all-important All-Ireland football final, between Galway and Armagh, will be shown live on the big screen.
