The Campus Anti Genocide coalition will stage a protest this morning at the Honorary Doctorate ceremony at University of Galway.
It’s the latest in a series of protests by the group, who are calling on the University and its President to cease collaboration with Israeli IT company Technion.
The group will gather at the Quadrangle building at 11AM, before forming a silent guard of honour at the Bailey Allen Hall – which is hosting the ceremony.
One of those due to collect an honorary doctorate today – film-maker Margo Harkin – has turned it down due to the university’s links with Technion.
The coalition says they will continue to disrupt ‘business as usual’ at the university until action is taken.
