Legendary US singer-songwriter Steve Earle will join forces with the Sharon Shannon Trio and Scottish singer-songwriter Roseanne Reid on Tuesday, June 13, for a concert at Seapoint to kick off the second Galway Folk Festival.
Running from then until Sunday, June 18, it will showcase top folk, roots, and traditional music from Ireland and further afield.
Scottish indie-rockers Teenage Fanclub will be in Seapoint on Wednesday night, while Ger O’Donnell and Trevor Sexton and Fergal Scahill and Ryan Molloy will perform Backstage at Monroe’s on Dominick Street.
Dublin-based rockers, Inhaler, will perform at Monroe’s Live on Thursday, with that show having sold out already. On Friday, The Whileaways, Niamh Regan, and BRÍDÍN will be on the main stage of the Dominick Street venue, while Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets, Enda Scahill, and Laytha will perform in the backstage area. Friday’s events will close with a late-night show from Dublin duo Ispíní na hÉireann.
On Saturday June 17, the main stage at Monroe’s Live will feature KÍLA, The Raines, and Fya Fox, while Myles O’Reilly, Padraig Jack, and Dave Clancy will perform backstage. Lisa Lambe will also perform an afternoon show at the venue.
The festival will close on Sunday, June 18, with a concert from Pa Sheehy, Skinny Living, and Brad Heidi at Monroe’s Live, while Seán Keane will perform an afternoon show.
Many of the concerts will take place across four stages in Monroe’s Live, with outdoor pop-up gigs and more shows still to be announced.
Tickets for all events are available on the festival’s website, with early booking advised.
