With all the talk about Botox and injectables to create that perfect complexion, it’s easy to forget that there are things on the market which also work well without resorting to a needle.
I’ve never been able to get over my phobia about having a needle into the face.
Having been burned many years ago after waxing facial hair, I’m very wary about what I undergo.
Microneedling is about the most adventurous I’ve done, which certainly leaves you red and angry but disappears after a few hours.
Because it’s not a single needle but rather a rolling device and it didn’t involve injecting some queer substance in, that didn’t faze me/
I’ve also had thermolysis for red facial veins and it was about the sorest treatment I’ve ever had but it certainly lessened the red flushed problem and allowed me to go makeup free most of the time.
When Therapie opened their biggest clinic in Ireland in the heart of Galway recently, they invited me to try any treatment on their extensive list.
They suggested I might try something called Clear & Brilliant which is brand new to the Irish clinics and is currently only available in Galway – Therapie has an extensive network of over 70 aesthetic clinics across Ireland, the UK and a new one in New York.
But when I read that it involved laser and penetrated the epidermis with light I baulked. Instead, I went for something I had read about online called the Hydrafacial, which is described as a rejuvenating skin treatment works by removing dead skin cells and extracting impurities while enriching the skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturising serums.
