THE mother and two children who lost their lives in a road accident near Claremorris last week were laid to rest on Wednesday in Donegal.
Úna Bowden (47) and her two daughters Ciara (14) and Saoirse (10) were killed in the accident on Tuesday, March 26, when their car was in collision with an articulated truck on the N17, Claremorris to Sligo road.
They had been travelling from Raphoe in Donegal back to their home in Moycullen when the collision occurred just before 2pm on a straight stretch of roadway in the townland of Castlegar, a few kilometres north of Claremorris.
Reposing for Úna Bowden and her two daughters took place from Monday evening last at her father’s (John Carlin) home in Milltown, Raphoe, Co. Donegal, with Requiem Mass in St. Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, at 12 noon yesterday (Wednesday).
Úna, Ciara and Saoirse Bowden were buried in the Carlin family plot in the old graveyard at Convoy following the Mass.
They are survived by Úna’s husband David Bowden, father of Ciara and Saoirse; Úna’s father, John Carlin; extended family and many friends in Donegal and Moycullen.
