A Galway graduate who came back to the city to set himself up as Ireland’s first digital tailor has heaped praise on a Government-sponsored mentor scheme that he says helped him get a foothold on the business ladder.

Paul Brown was born in London, grew up in Mayo and studied in what was then NUIG before emigrating to Australia when the crash came.

It is just over three years ago since he returned to Galway with a dream to create Ireland’s first exclusively made-to-measure custom retailer – and this Wolf in Wool was born, offering as he says an old world made-to-measure tailoring experience, wrapped up in digital convenience.

He signed up for the Back for Business development programme, funded from the Government’s Emigrant Support Programme, established to foster and support entrepreneurial activity among emigrants returning to live in Ireland.

It is aimed at those who have lived abroad for at least a year and have returned in the last three years or those planning to return in the near future.

“Back for Business is a real testament to Ireland as a place with a warm welcome for its returning diaspora and its endorsement of our entrepreneurial spirit,” he says now.
