The Reeths-Puffer High School Band from Michigan, USA, will be performing a free concert with the Ballinasloe Town Band in Ballinasloe Town Hall Theatre this Sunday, March 31, starting at 7:30pm.
It’s as part of an Irish tour that marks the Michigan band’s debut appearance outside the US. They will be conducted by Sean Harris as they perform works from both sides of the Atlantic to create a sense of musical and cultural harmony.
They are teaming up with Irish groups for this tour, with the first of these exchanges taking place in Ballinasloe on Sunday.
It’s with Ballinasloe Town Band, which has been a cornerstone of the town for almost 150 years.
Under its current conductors, Keith Kelly and Frank Kennedy, the members will be conveying their passion for cross-cultural collaboration through songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
This is a friendship that’s been budding for years, according to the groups and they extend a warm welcome to the public to this free event.
