Postcards for Gaza, a postcard exhibition to raise funds for children in Palestine, is taking place this Sunday, December 10, in Salthill.
It’s being organised by local artists and the proceeds will go to Middle East Children’s Alliance
Work for the exhibition has been donated by leading artists based in Galway, Ireland and abroad, and all the pieces will be displayed anonymously.
The postcard-sized artworks span a range of mediums, including paint, drawing, collage, print, and embroidery.
Each piece is priced at €20 but buyers are welcome to donate more if they wish.
According to one of the organisers, city artist Róisín Coyle “this is a chance to support Palestine and also go home with a piece of artwork that you love”.
There will be drinks and refreshments and music.
Anyone who buys a piece of art will be able to take the work away them immediately and, once they have bought it, they can learn the identity of its creator as each artist’s name is written on the back of their work.
The exhibition fundraiser will take place this Sunday from 4pm to 7pm at Engage Studios, Churchfields, Lower Salthill, H91YCW9.
