Major concert hinted for Pearse Stadium as Galway GAA release teaser

A major concert is hinted to take place at Galway GAA’s Pearse Stadium with an announcement being made on Thursday morning.
Galway GAA’s Twitter account, alongside four other venues, released simultaneous and similar teasers on their social media.
The videos showed what appears to be music gear being wheeled into each venue with a sticker on the side that says ‘special delivery’.
There is no more information in the short video apart from a date stamp of November 5 2026 and a time slot of 8am.
What has added fuel to the concert fire is the fact that major music promoter Aiken Promotions has shared and liked the teasers being posted which suggests that there may be a raft of gigs being held at GAA venues next summer.
Other venues involved are: SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork; Nowlan Park in Kilkenny; TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick and Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast.
It is not the first time Pearse Stadium has hosted a music concert with Ed Sheeran playing back-to-back sell out nights on the pitch in May 2018.
Black Eyed Peas played in 2022 and people of a certain age will remember the wonderful washout Westlife concert in 2008.
James Gavin of event management company Grooveyard managed to persuade the Black Eyed Peas – the US group behind ‘I Gotta Feeling’, which spent twelve weeks at Number 1 in Ireland – to play their only Irish gig after eleven years in Pearse Stadium.
Back in 2019, County Galway GAA Treasurer at the time Michael Burke said after the Ed Sheeran gig that there would be no concert in Pearse “unless there is a good payday for the GAA”.
In all, Galway GAA received a modest €119,085 return from the two Ed Sheeran concerts in May – although a portion of this included the installation of a new CCTV system, which was understood to be a requirement for the Ed Sheeran gigs.
By contrast, Cork County Board reportedly received in the region of €1 million from the Sheeran concerts in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
American country superstar Zach Bryan played Páirc Uí Chaoimh last summer while Bruce Springsteen entertained Nowlan Park in 2024 also.
