The long wait for Galway County Council seats for the Tuam LEA continues with outgoing Councillor Mary Hoade within touching distance, followed by Shaun Cunniffe who looks set to resume his political career.
But the real battle here will have to wait until later in the day when the last of the seven seats is decided. That’s likely to come down to a battle between outgoing Cllrs Karey McHugh Farag and Joe Sheridan along with broadcaster Ollie Turner.
Andrew Reddington and Peter Roche surpassed the quota on the first count yesterday and Donagh Killilea also looks safe to retain his seat.
