Wading through the fiction to find recipe for healthy life

Health, Beauty and Lifestyle with Denise McNamara

The poll of 500 people in Ireland undertaken by Herbalife Nutrition found that over a third (36%) of respondents think that carbs are bad for you and make you fat, over one in three (32%) think that fasting can make you lose weight quickly and one in four (28%) believe can eat whatever you want as long as you exercise.

Almost a quarter (24%) believed that giving up gluten can help you to lose weight. Three quarters of respondents think you shouldn’t skip breakfast while three in four (76%) believe fresh food is more nutritious.

Over a quarter (27%) of those surveyed were adamant that plant-based protein isn’t as nutritious as animal protein, and one in five (18%) view all sugar as being bad for you, regardless of where it comes from. A further two fifths said that you need to consume protein right after your workout (41%).
