With the return of the fine weather this week and wedding” season well and truly in full swing, we take a look at some summer looks from two brands widely available in Galway’s favourite shops.
Naya is a brand that has pioneered looser clothing in the summer that somehow doesn’t look too oversized or baggy.
“Looser clothing isn’t just a style choice—it’s a smart way to stay comfortable and cool,” explains brand spokesperson Barbara Stack.
“With July on the horizon, temperatures are rising and tightly-fitted clothes can cling to the skin and trap heat making you feel hotter and more uncomfortable. Loose-fitting Naya on the other hand is a gentle, easy silhouette with smart fabrics designed to make you look and feel cool.”
The brand is passionate about materials matter, but believes the cut of your clothing can make a difference too.
“For summer, Naya has chosen wide-leg pants in summer fabrics that drape the body in the most flattering way. Oversized tunics are worn with loose trousers that skim, and not cling to, the body. Breezy dresses offer a perfect blend of comfort, coverage, and effortless style, while subtly enhancing the body’s natural shape,” she states.
“The pin stripe two piece allows for ease of movement and effortless dressing. Naya is great for layering year round but perfect for summer dressing when temperatures can change by the hour in Ireland.”
Naya is available in Galway at All Occasions, Portumna, Anthony Ryan, Galway city, Concepts, Oranmore and Moycullen and Hehirs, Clifden.
Another very popular brand, Kate Cooper, has some really funky summer suits this year, which make great outfits for weddings, events and the Galway Races.
Suits have made a massive comeback since the ‘80s when they were seen as a cool alternative to dresses. Worn by young and ‘old-er’, they are comfortable, practical and very stylish. Here are three which caught the eye of this column. I particularly like the flattering on-trend boot cut trousers.
The blue one has an elasticated waist that’s hidden by the wrap jacket so great if you’re trying to hide some unwanted rolls.
Kate Cooper is widely available in Galway’s boutiques.
