County Clare’s Kilfenora Céilí Band will be joined by World Champion dancers Michael and Matthew Gardiner, and Laura Minogue and by singer Edel Vaughan, for what promises to be an exciting and energetic show at the city’s Town Hall Theatre on Sunday,  November 11, at 8pm.

“Fantastic, feel-good, happy, lively music,” is Sharon Shannon’s description of their sound and, as someone with strong links to the world-renowned band, she should know!

The band have gained a reputation for bringing their music to new audiences, performing at Glastonbury (headline concerts on their acoustic stage) and  giving concerts in New York’s prestigious Lincoln Center as well as touring Ireland and Europe.

Collaborations with a diverse range of singers and dancers, experimentation with repertoires outside of traditional dance, and complex harmonic arrangements, demonstrate an ensemble who are pioneering new territory while cherishing their own unique tradition.

The Band members are; leader John Lynch (banjo, mandolin), Claire Griffin (accordion), Tim Collins (concertina), Gary Shannon (flute, whistle), Anthony Quigney (flute, whistle, piano), AnneMarie McCormack (fiddle), Sinéad Heagney (fiddle, viola), Anne Rynne (fiddle), Eimear Howley (fiddle, banjo), Fintan McMahon (piano), Sean Griffin (drums) and Brian O’Grady (double bass) and Sharon Howley (cello).
