A host of big names – from Druid and their production of Sonya Kelly’s acclaimed the Last Return and Mikel Murfi on the double, to musical icons Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan and the Ukrainian National Ballet – are among the many and diverse highlights in a packed programme for Galway’s Town Hall Theatre over the next ten weeks.
Following a hectic New Year and a string of sell-out events in the first fortnight of 2023, the THT has revealed details of a packed programme at its own venue and around the city, over the remainder of January, and into February and March.
There’s loads of comedy – with David O’Doherty this Thursday, January 19; Neil Delamere on Saturday, January 28; Billy Magra on Friday February 17; A Celebration of Fr Ted with Joe Rooney on Tuesday, February 28; Polish stand-up comedian Olka Szcześniak is at the Black Box on Saturday, March 18; Dermot Whelan is at the THT the following night, and Stephen Mullan in the Town Hall Studio on Thursday, March 23.
Three icons of the music scene, Sharon Shannon, Frances Black and Mary Coughlan, take to the Black Box stage this Friday, January 20, for what should be night to remember.
The Irish Chamber Orchestra are part of the Music for Galway Midwinter Festival this Friday night at the Hardiman Hotel; Derek Ryan with special guests Louise Morrissey and Barry Kirwan at the THT this Saturday and Born To Rise this Sunday.
