Tracy Bruen and Anna Mullarkey will headline the musical event, Ceol an Fhómhair Tuam, which takes place this Saturday, October 1, in the town’s Palace Grounds, starting at 5pm.
There will also be performances from upcoming acts The Rosecaps and Tuam band The Restricted, and from solo artists Sarah Brookfield and Jayden Murphy.
Multi-instrumentalist Tracy Bruen creates music that blends and bends folk, prog, pop, and indie genres, combining all that with mesmerising vocals, stories and theatricality. She launched her debut album, Mirror, in June.
Composer and performer Anna Mullarkey cites the sea as an inspiration for her work which weaves electronics with piano and voice. The Irish Times called her ‘phenomenal’ and Irish Theatre Magazine compared her performance to ‘a sultry ménage of Björk/Billie Holiday/Philip Glass’.
Galway-based indie-rock band The Rosecaps is made up of Daniel O’Malley, Emmet Feerick, and Shane Fahy. Their recent single, The Wall, got an excellent review from Hot Press.
Tuam rockers Conor Ó Domhnaill, Jason Lambert, Kenny Costello and Cathal Curran make up The Restricted, whose debut single, Working on a Dream, is out now.
