A Night to Remember, a fundraising evening for Anam Music Therapy will be held in St Colman’s Church, Corofin, this Sunday, December 14, at 7pm, with doors from 6pm.
Performers will include The Whileaways, Fergal Scahill, Padraig Stevens with Leo Moran, Dave Clancy and friends, as well as the founders of Anam Music Therapy, Dr Lisa Kelly and Fabian Joyce. There will be special performance from the Corofin Community Choir.
Musician and therapeutic bodyworker Ruth Smith will be the MC.
Anam Music Therapy was founded in 2021 with the aim of delivering accessible, high-quality music therapy services to people who need these the most.
Its founders both trained as music therapists at the University of Limerick and this clinic brings their expertise to people of all ages.
In July of this year, Anam Music Therapy registered as a charity, becoming the country’s first charitable organisation solely dedicated to advancing access to music therapy across the republic.
From infants to older adults, the organisation supports well-being through evidence-based music therapy interventions, delivered by its professionally trained therapists.
Anam Music Therapy plans to expand access to this therapy beyond traditional healthcare environments, embedding it in community settings and strengthening existing local support structures. This will ensure that more people – regardless of background, location, or circumstance – can experience the therapeutic benefits of music.
All profits from Sunday night will go towards the establishment of Anam Music Therapy as a registered company with charitable status.
Tickets can be bought on Eventbrite, using the link on the Anam Music Therapy Facebook page and cost €25.
Those who unable to attend will have an opportunity to watch at home as the concert will be streamed live. People can access the livestream by using the link on Anam Music Therapy Facebook page.
