Thermo King establishes new Robotics Automation Training Centre in city

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Thermo King has established a new robotics automation training centre at its city base as part of a new collaboration with GMIT.

The centre is part of a new engineering degree that aims to drive a major upskilling in engineering, automation and robotics capabilities in the region and further afield.

The new training centre is equipped with classrooms and labs and involves 3D manufacturing, robotics, visions systems and PLCs.

Thermo King says the creation of these skills will empower the company to future proof for cotinued innovation and market leadership in it’s portfolio of transport refrigeration solutions.

The Ballinasloe area Fine Gael Councillor has just been elected, under an established voting pact, at the county council AGM being held in Glenamaddy this afternoon

He’ll succeed Athenry-Oranmore area Independent Councillor James Charity in the chair

It’s expected he’ll be succeeded in the role by his constituency colleague, Independent Councillor Collette Connolly.

Call for Claregalway native Dr. Ronan Glynn to be given mayoral reception

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A city councillor is calling on the incoming Mayor of Galway to give Dr. Ronan Glynn a mayoral reception for his work during the pandemic.

Dr. Glynn, who currently serves as Deputy Chief Medical Officer, is a native of Claregalway.

City Councillor Alan Cheevers says his leadership on the national stage deserves recognition.

His proposal comes after Dr. Tony Holohan was awarded the Freedom of Dublin for his leadership throughout the pandemic.
