The Pendulum Moon by Laura Hennessey DeSena will be staged this Friday at 1.30pm in Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre as part of this year’s Druid Debuts programme.
It’s a ghost story about early 20th-century Irish immigrants to America putting down roots in Summit Hill, a coal-mining town in Pennsylvania.
This will be a rehearsed reading, one of two in this year’s Druid Debuts programme, which is part of the Arts Festival. The Pendulum Moon will be directed by Katie O’Halloran.
And Tomorrow I’ll Dance With You, by Méabh de Brún was staged earlier this week, also as part of the Debut series.
That dark, poignant comedy explored sibling relationships, the enormity of grief, and how life goes on after loss. It was directed by Maisie Lee.
Laura Hennessey DeSena is a retired Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University who teaches at a New Jersey high school.
Her plays, Eden Within Us and The Men’s Club, have been performed in New York and New Jersey.
