Galway ranked 39th worst in world for traffic congestion

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway has been ranked the 39th worst city in the world for traffic congestion.
Traffic-analysing company, INRIX, found that commuters in Galway city spent 94 hours on average stuck in traffic last year.
Dublin was ranked at number 12 on the Global Traffic Scorecard, with commuters losing 114 hours in traffic there in 2022.
The world’s worst city for traffic last year was London, followed by Chicago and Paris.

Finance Minister to speak at business lunch in city next month

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Minister of Finance, Michael McGrath, will speak at a business lunch in Galway city next month.
The event is €55 for Galway Chamber members, and €65 for non-members.
The lunch, sponsored by Grant Thornton, will take place on Thursday 9th February in The Galway Bay Hotel at 12:30PM.

University of Galway healthcare facility secures European accreditation

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A healthcare simulation facility at University of Galway has secured European accreditation.
The Irish Centre for Applied Patient Safety received the accreditation as part of the Network of Accredited Skills Centres in Europe.
The centre, based at the university’s School of Medicine, provides training for students and staff in Saolta hospitals.
Professor of Simulation Education Dara Byrne hopes the accreditation will lead to more collaborative work for the facility,
