The summer concert series in Ballinasloe with Eleanor Shanley and friends will return to Moycarn Lodge and Marina this year, following the sellout success of the inaugural series last year.
This year’s Summer Series will start this Friday, June 13, when Eleanor will host fellow singer/songwriter Mike Hanrahan of Stockton’s Wing, along with poet, playwright and broadcaster Vincent Woods.
Guests for the following concerts will include two of Ballinasloe’s own; singer Michelle Lally and classical guitarist John Feeley.
Among the shows this summer will be a concert dedicated to the music of Percy French. Sweep Down to the Sea will feature Eleanor with Loughrea’s Ultan Conlon and Jim Higgins of the Stunning.
Longford singer Eleanor Quaine will make a welcome return to this year’s line-up, while there other local talent will include Shannonbridge’s Louise Killeen, who is taking part again this year, while local singer-songwriter Emma O’Reilly will also feature.
Last year’s Summer Series sold out rapidly, so anyone who is planning to attend is advised to book early. The dates for the concerts are: this Friday, June 13, July 25 and August 15 and 29. More information and tickets available from The Moycarn Lodge & Marina on O909 645050.
