The Skeff Bar & Kitchen in Eyre Square, one of Galway City’s best-known venues, is turning up the volume on nightlife in the town with a new live music schedule. Starting this month, The Skeff will feature two live bands every night, backed by its full late-bar seven-night licence.
This move aims to celebrate and support local music talent while offering a great experience to locals and tourists alike.
“We’ve always believed in the power of live music to bring people together,” said General Manager Shane McMahon. “Now, we’re doubling that experience. We want to make The Skeff the place to be for anyone who loves great music and a vibrant late-night atmosphere. We have six distinct bars and are lucky to be able to offer a wide variety of experiences to customers. Our live music offering is a cornerstone of our entertainment line-up”
The new schedule will showcase a broad mix of genres, from folk to funk, soul to indie, classic rock to contemporary hits, reflecting Galway’s eclectic music scene.
The is initiative is part of The Skeff’s broader commitment to revitalising the city’s night-time economy post-pandemic and offering consistent, high-quality entertainment, according to Shane McMahon.
“Galway deserves a venue that treats every night like a Saturday. Whether you’re here for a casual pint, celebrating with friends, or just looking for a great night, we’re raising the bar for live music – quite literally.”
The expanded lineup will feature a rotating roster of local musicians and bands, alongside special guests and touring acts.
“This is a huge opportunity for emerging artists to play on a city-centre stage in front of a diverse, music-loving crowd,” he added.
Musicians who are interested in performing as part of the new schedule, can contact the venue via www.theskeff.ie or through its social media channels. Likewise for people wanting to stay updated on who’s playing and what’s happening.
