Local Senator Aisling Dolan is demanding ‘urgent action’ by the NTA to develop a new bus route between Athlone and Ballinasloe.
The Roscommon/Galway candidate has raised the issue in the Seanad – where it was confirmed that work on two proposals along the transport corridor are underway.
After private services ceased operation earlier this year, Senator Dolan says people are struggling to make it to medical appointments and college classes.
