SALTHILL Devon girls landed their third All-Ireland title in as many years with a stunning extra time victory over arch rivals Stella Maris in Tolka Park last Sunday.

In an absorbing game, Salthill had the better start. Tessa Mullins and Emer Flatley were dominating midfield which allowed for some excellent intricate passing moves involving wingers Lucy Hannon and Brenda Flannery.

Up front, the tireless Dora Gorman and International striker Julieanne Russell were keeping the Dublin defence on their toes. Stella, who had eight capped players on duty, were finding it difficult, but Emily Hanney and Olivia Smart were solid at the back for them all through.

Salthill made the breakthrough on 31 mins with a superb one touch passing move involving Russell, Gorman and Hannon whose superb final pass was finished to the roof of the net on the volley by Emer Flatley.
