Labour’s Helen Ogbu is set to take the fourth seat in Galway City East, with Sinn Fein’s Aisling Burke in prime position to take the fifth.
But talk of a recount is circulating at Westside as just 14 votes separate Fine Gael candidate Shane Forde (932) and Cllr Mike Crowe (918) who will go to battle for the final seat.
Cllr Alan Cheevers’ (FF) surplus of 12 is currently being distributed as City East enters the fourteenth count.
