As the electric car drive continues to gather a little extra pace this week, we saw Peugeot introduce three new models to their range of EVs.
First up is the new 208, the best-selling car in Europe in 2022 and is an iconic model in the PEUGEOT range. Now the 208 has been refreshed and now gets a 100% electric version with a range of up to 400 km. Peugeot has also refreshed the design, added new, cutting-edge technologies and driving pleasure along with new powertrains
New front lights and an updated grille add a modern new look while at the back, the rear light signature of three red lights change from vertical to horizontal.
Inside, there is a new digital instrument cluster, a large 10-inch central touchscreen standard on all models. With that comes improved technology offers full connectivity and a wireless mirroring function with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Other advancements include extra USB sockets, a more powerful induction charger, High-definition parking cameras and a comprehensive range of driving aids.
For customers looking for their first taste of electrification, there is a new 48V HYBRID with the latest PureTech 100bhp petrol engine. In urban driving, it can operate more than 50% of the time in zero-emission electric mode.
There are also two petrol engines; a PureTech 75: 3-cylinder 1.2 petrol engine with 75bhp and a PureTech 100 3-cylinder 1.2 petrol engine with 100bhp. Both are equipped with a Stop & Start system.
The new 208 is available to order in Ireland now for January delivery with prices starting at €25,395 for the 1.2 PureTech and €32,780 for the E-208.
Peugeot will also make available a new version of the E-308 and E-308 SW. Already available in petrol, diesel and electrified plug-in hybrid versions, the hatchback and estate SW, will be available in 100% electric version from early 2024. The electric 308 and 308 SW will be powered by a brand-new electric motor with a range up to 413 km range.
Inside, the same level of comfort of existing models can be found in the E-308, a 3-dimensional digital head-up display with a central 10-inch touch screen and the latest i-Connect Advanced technology, an infotainment system that makes the driving and travelling experience more intuitive and rewarding.
A brand new fully electric engine will be launched on the new Peugeot E-308 and E-308 SW: with 115 kW (156 bhp) and 260 Nm of torque (available from 0 km/h) for immediate responsiveness. This engine will complement the current range, which includes 180 bhp/132 kW and 225 bhp/162 kW plug-in hybrids and internal combustion versions.
The E-308 will be available in Ireland in early 2024 and will be available to order later this year. Prices have yet to be released which will happen closer to the official launch date.
