Galway Bay fm newsroom – Plans to develop an apartment block in the city centre have been given the go-ahead subject to 21 conditions.
Workcast Limited, which is in receivership, has been granted planning permission for the development at the junction of Forster Street and Fairgreen road.
The development involves the construction of 28 apartments spread over 5 floors and 5 coach bays.
It will also encompass the completion of a mixed-use development below ground.
The apartments at Fairgreen in the city were granted permission with 21 conditions attached.
One of these stipulates that each apartment must have guaranteed access to a parking space in the basement carpark.
Apartments facing onto Fairgreen Road are to be soundproofed to mitigate against any noise distrurbance from buses exiting the station.
The developer is also required to pay over 400 thousand euro to the Planning Authority towards the cost of services.

Gardai seek public help in search for man last seen in Galway on the 30th of December
He was last seen wearing a grey hoody, brown leather jacket, blue jeans and brown leather boots.
He also had a black back pack in his possession.
