The Galileo Affair: Fact and Fiction is the title of a lecture that will be given in Galway next Tuesday by Dr Nuno Castel-Branco of All Souls College, University of Oxford.
Dr Castel-Branco is a historian of science and an expert on science in the early modern period.
This talk on the renowned Italian astronomer and philosopher (1564-1642) is one of a series of lectures on Catholic theology being organised by students at the university. The first, which was given by Galway native Dr Robert McNamara, a philosopher who lectures at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, USA, was attended by 40 people.
The Galileo talk will take place next Tuesday, March 4, at 6pm in the Joseph Larmor Theatre, Arts/Science Building (Concourse), at the University of Galway, and all are welcome.
